TORONTO – Police have arrested and charged two people in connection with an e-ticket sales scam for a One Direction concert scheduled to be held in Toronto next year.

Michael Heys−Walsh, 21, of Toronto and Emily Fraser, 23, of Toronto were apprehended after police executed a search warrant at a home in the College Street and Spadina Avenue area on Friday where they also seized fraudulent e−tickets, including a printer and credit card data.

The accused have been placing ads on popular trading website Kijiji to sell fraudulent concert tickets to the British pop band’s concert at the Air Canada Centre in July 2013.

Police say they were being sold for $100 and the suspects often met the victims in local coffee shops.

Heys−Walsh has been charged with fraud under $5,000 and uttering forged document while Fraser was charged with fraud under $5,000, uttering forged document and possession of ecstasy.

Earlier this month, a number of Justin Bieber fans were scammed when their concert tickets they bought off Kijiji ended up being fake as well.

Police believe there may be more victims in this case and are encouraging anyone with information to contact police.
